Farewell Ka Bel.
The country just lost another strong and dauntless figure in the person of Rep. Crispin Beltran.
One who fought for labor causes and other issues of the common man, passed away. And even to his last breath the Man of Labor was working.
I felt humbled and proud upon seeing that his modest abode spoke of truth of how he lived and presented his image to the nation working as a representative of the working class. A great disparity from congressmen and senators whose wealth earned from extracted budget allocations or pork barrels and commissions or bribery can no longer be counted and accounted.
There will be no other Ka Be, but his causes will surely remain unanswered when the state remains of the hands of the beasts and the power-hungry. But may his spirit lives on in every Filipino who continues to struggle for distributive justice and may his soul be this country’s intercessor to supreme so that one day, all the hoodlums will finally rest in hell.
